Web/Strategy & UX

Built around how your customers actually think.

Most websites are built around how the business thinks about itself — services organized by internal department, navigation labeled with internal jargon, content ordered by what the company finds most important. Then they wonder why visitors don't convert. Strategy and UX fix the premise before anything gets designed.

Why it matters

Great websites are designed from the outside in.

Strategy starts with understanding the people your website needs to serve: who they are, what they're trying to accomplish, what questions they have when they arrive, and what would make them trust you enough to reach out. Every structural decision — what pages exist, how navigation is organized, what content goes where — should trace back to those answers. When it doesn't, visitors get lost.

Information architecture is the invisible work that determines whether a website feels effortless or confusing. It's the map of what pages exist and how they connect, built around mental models your visitors already have — not the org chart of your company. Bad IA is why people click around a site for two minutes and leave without finding what they were looking for. Good IA makes the path to conversion feel obvious.

UX design — wireframes and prototypes — tests structure before anything gets styled. Moving from wireframe to prototype to visual design catches problems cheaply. By the time we're designing in color, the navigation, page flow, and content hierarchy have all been validated. The result is a site that performs well because it was planned well.

What we build and deliver.

Audience & Goal Discovery
Structured conversations and research to map who your visitors are, what they need, and what a successful visit looks like for both them and your business.
Sitemap & IA
A complete site map showing every page, how they connect, and what each page is supposed to accomplish — the blueprint before design begins.
Wireframes
Low-fidelity page layouts that establish content hierarchy, navigation flow, and conversion paths without the distraction of color or typography.
Interactive Prototypes
Clickable prototypes built in Figma that let you experience the site's flow before any development work begins — the fastest way to find what doesn't work.
UX Audit
A systematic review of an existing site against usability principles — with specific, prioritized recommendations for what to fix and why.
Analytics Setup
GA4 configuration, event tracking, and goal setup so the live site generates the data needed to keep improving after launch.

“We'd redesigned the site twice and it still wasn't converting. D2 came in with the strategy phase first and immediately found that our navigation was organized for us, not for our customers. The third design was the one that worked.”

FAQ

Questions we hear every week.

Usually yes. Most site redesigns fail because they carry forward structural problems from the old site with new visuals on top. A UX audit of the existing site is usually the fastest way to find what's actually causing underperformance.
Strategy defines what the site needs to accomplish and for whom. UX translates that into structure and flow — sitemap, wireframes, prototypes. They're sequential: strategy informs the UX work, and UX informs design. Both are needed before design begins on a serious project.
A strategy and wireframe phase for a typical marketing site takes 3–4 weeks. Complex multi-audience sites or web applications take longer. This investment at the front of the project saves significantly more time in design revisions and post-launch fixes.
Yes. We deliver sitemaps, wireframes, and UX documentation in formats any design or development team can work from. Handoff is part of the deliverable.
Yes. Discovery interviews, sitemap reviews, and prototype walkthroughs all happen with you. This is collaborative work, not something we disappear into and deliver finished. Your input at each stage is what makes the output accurate.
